Nick made dinner!

Well, for himself, not me. I bought these awesome pills called slimquick I think... take one with breakfast and one with dinner to help curve the cravings. I'm super stoked!

His appetizer was pita bread with spicy hummus, topped with grilled chicken and in the center was pasta sauce. I had one and it was amazing! I highly recommend it!

So I have fake nails on from the wedding and they have GOT to go.. I could have made this post in less than three minutes, instead, it's taken me almost ten. CRAZY!! I had them done up north and I kept telling her to cut them down more.. I wonder if that's just how they are in the north. They like their nails long? Geesh this sucks..

Ps, the portfolio page is doing GREAT!! Thanks for those who have shown their support by checking it out and liking some of the artwork you see. It truly means a lot to me. I hope it grows more and more!

Well, about to watch The Exorcist for the first time all the way through. Am I scared, you ask? The answer is yes. I freaking am.

Random works..

Today is my day off!!!!! Sqquueeee I am so happy to stay at home on Nick's computer and get as much work as I can completed. Abbey, Riley and Penny are THE BEST company. All they need is one of daddy's socks and all three are happy.

Here are some random works I found that I enjoy while I was editing my collection:

Crazy under-the-house cat update:
So I left some milk in a bowl for them yesterday, come back today and the milk is STILL there and no trace of cats. Of course by now the milk has gone bad EW so I had the opportunity to clean that up yay. At our Humane Society here in Savannah, right now cats are FREE. That's crazy... good thing I have stuff to do...... not saying I'd take one home but....

Yeah I probably would. Three dogs and a snake is enough lol. Two rather large dogs and one very small. How I adore them...

I was told yesterday I need to change up what I draw... one of the girls said I draw my dogs too much. I sure hope no one else feels that way.

Behance

As requested by a dear friend :D I just applied for space on behance! Very exciting. If I am accepted, this will act as my temporary portfolio for potential job interviews.

Speaking of temporary, I need to find someone who is capable enough to re-design my website. Money is no object, I just need to find someone who knows ME... and can show that through a brand new website. Wish me luck!

Resume

I just finished updating my resume. It's not as impressive as I'd like it to be, but better late than never. It will expand soon! It still has the old logo on it, I might keep it. I should have a poll.... to change the logo, or not change the logo!

The Dream Team

What a strange morning... I was letting the pups out after breakfast and a squirrel dropped probably eleven feet to the ground from a tree! Of course my 5 year old black lab Abbey was all over it. It somehow survived the fall and climbed back up into the tree. My 2 1/2 year old border collie Riley began squaring off with something in the bushes, come to find out it's a stray cat and her kittens! Needless to say NONE of them are friendly and take kindly to strangers, even when they are carrying milk.

Now I can't let them outside. Riley and Penny are playing together but Abbey is glued to the back door. I feel bad, but once I open that door, I know just where she's going. She will drink all the milk and scare the poop out of those cats again. Speaking of the Dream Team, here we are now, being SO good:

Today is another half workday. I go into work at four, so I don't have a ton of time to do much. Like I said before, updating my logo is not an option. I also need to update my resume and find a temporary website to host my portfolio.... if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I would hate to use photobucket or anything like that.

I will leave you with this sketch of Penny that I find amusing... If she were to wear a fake mustache.

hmm...

If anyone knows how to cut out an object in photoshop, lemme know. I cut Penny out and put her on a transparent background, but she still appears in that little white box. Does this make sense? Help!

in progress..

it still needs work. Any ideas?

My wrist is starting to act up, so I think a break is in order. Plus, I can hear my stomach talking to me I'm so hungry! Plans for renewal:

-new logo
-new fonts
-new WEBSITE

Penny

My 4 1/2 month old Chihuahua Penny has currently been my main focus and inspiration for my works. I have quite a few scans to work with. Here are just a few:

I feel like here and there i have captured her likeness:

My New Life

I took me quite a few tries, but I really like what I've done with the blog! I hope you do too.

The newest information is now in:
We are moving to Boston.

Did I shock you? It's true! My boyfriend Nick and I are currently searching for work in the Boston area. My entire family lives about 30 miles North of Boston, so we have a place to stay until we can get on our own two feet. Much will be changing in my life. I will be back to focusing on my work and building a career as an illustrator. For the first time in a very long time, I left my house today smiling. I have a mission. I will not take no for an answer, and I will not slow down. I am ready for my life to truly begin, and if that is to happen, this move one thousand miles away is imperative. The road will be rocky, dusty, and full of twists and turns, but I am ready to take on that challenge. I have not been this happy about anything before.

I hope you stick around, because things are about to speed up. So hold onto your desk chair, and lets take this ride together.

My St. Patty's Day 2011 shirts!!

It's not the best photo in the world, But I designed the back of our t shirts this St. Patty's Day for B&D Burgers! I love them, I've sold almost all of the shirts and it's very exciting. I love it! I give people my cards when I sell the shirts. This is probably the newest info I have for y'all. More to come!

hahaha

Aren't we all so cute? Minus the pink one of course... she no longer works with us (more like was there for two weeks). We need more *planned* photoshoots at work.. not just showing up for shift and having to pose for an hour or so.

TGIF!

I have today and tomorrow off... so I'm enjoying every moment! Here is a photo of the puppy (Apollo) that I found outside of my house this past weekend and just recently adopted out to Brittany ( :c ). I miss him already.

Needless to say, Brittany has fallen in love with him, just as I did :D

Well, please excuse me, I must walk my two dogs downtown for a drink and some Mexican perhaps? Artwork up tomorrow: a new kids menu for B&Dburgers (bdburgers.net)

Series

So I've decided to make Fitz a series. I completed another one of him. Photoshop (naturally) was my medium. I had a ton of fun with this one. I'm thinking he will be my new mailer. I feel this is what I am truly good at: animal portraits! I am very excited about these :D

Now, it's off to work *booo!*

WOO-HOO!

I LOVE IT!

It needs some work, but this is what I completed today :D I'm putting out a new mailer, and this is my first idea. Thoughts? So excited about sending them out!

Also, I'm in the market for a cintiq. If anyone has any tips, let me know. I hate to buy one brand new.

Getting my life together!

HELLO WORLD!! Times have been tough lately when it comes to art and how I've been keeping up with it. I recently was given a promotion at work (woot!) so now I am a manager at my job. I have a million new responsibilities and I get paid much more. However, I haven't done a whole lot when it comes to illustrating. I DID, however, complete my images for our new t-shirts which is uber exciting. I shall post them!

Geez, BRING IT ON, I guess lol. I copied the logo we already have. The first is for our burger challenge shirt and the second will go on all the girls t-shirts.

In other news, I'm searching for someone to re-create my website. I hope to find someone soon! I really want it to look good and different. I'm also re-designing my logo and mailer (it's about that time!). I created someone new tonight, and I'm stoked to show him off! Thinking about putting him on my mailer instead of Abbey/Riley. Let me know what you think!

I am in love with this little guy! He's adorable! How funny would it be to see him either smiling with a toothy grin or making a really confused look while mounted on a pretty wall hahaha. I know, no one kills donkeys, but you never know anymore. I was thinking Charlie as his name, but it may be too cheesy for him.
By the way, I wish I could stop listening to this "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" song... I found out who it was by and almost cried. They have got to be the lamest band ever. Okay, I'm outtie. I need to keep on working :)
